Have you always loved Musical Theatre? Do you sing along in your car to Disney and Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen? Burning to get on stage, but not sure where to start? This class is for you!
Musical Theatre Fundamentals is a week long session exploring the basics of Musical Theatre for beginners. Learn simple dance techniques, explore famous songs and composers, and play with different acting methods.
The workshop ends with an informal invited presentation on Friday afternoon.

One week intensive explorations of the dance, acting, and musical styles that created some of the most iconic era's in musical theatre. Each session ends with a final cabaret style presentation. Take one, or any combination!
JULY 23 - 27 : MUSICALS THAT ROCK
From Hair to American Idiot, we will explore the influence of rock musical in modern musical theatre.
JULY 30 - AUGUST 3 : GOLDEN AGE MUSICALS
Take a journey back to the classics with the musicals that started it all. Rogers and Hammerstein, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern and more!
AUGUST 6 - 10 : EPIC 80s
The birth of the epic musical operetta: soaring vocal lines, large ensembles, and even larger set pieces. We look at this time in history that brought us Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, and Into the Woods.

AUDITION ONLY
Take your training to the next level with this two-week intensive experience. This program features daily master classes taught by professional actors, directors, choreographers, dancers, and vocalists from San Diego, LA, and beyond to sharpen your skill set. Classes range from Shakespeare to original choreography taught by cast members of Broadway shows to acting for film and television to the business of the business. Past teachers have included: Terence Archie (Broadway's ROCKY, RAGTIME, Old Globe's GUYS AND DOLLS), Jill Gorrie (International Tour of GREASE, SDMT's Hairspray), Chelsea Diggs-Smith (BET's REBEL, San Diego Rep's IN THE HEIGHTS), and Tom McCoy of McCoy Rigby Entertainment.
Students will leave the program with a performance reel, updated headshot and resume, and polished audition book.
Auditions will take place MONDAY APRIL 16, 3 PM - 9 PM
